Spare keys are the cheapest security you will ever buy, and almost nobody gets round to them until the day they are standing outside without one.
I cut keys on site, so you are not making a trip into town and queuing behind somebody buying a watch battery. It is particularly worth doing if you are a landlord, if you have carers or family coming and going, or if the whole household is running off one key.
Worth saying plainly: if your key has been getting stiff or bending, a copy of a worn key is a worn key. It is better to sort the lock first than to cut three copies of a key that is about to snap.
You probably need this if
- The whole household is sharing one key
- You want a spare with a neighbour or family member
- You are a landlord and need a set for a property
- A carer, cleaner or dog walker needs access
- Your existing key is looking worn and you want a good copy while it still cuts
What happens
- I cut from your existing key at your door
- I test every copy in the actual lock before I leave
- If a key does not turn smoothly, I recut it or I do not charge you for it
