Locksmith covering Doncaster and the wider borough

Doncaster is a big borough and it is flat, which makes it quick to get round but means one job can sit twenty miles from the last. Mexborough and Conisbrough are at the western end, Thorne, Moorends and Stainforth are away east on the levels, and the town sits in the middle of all of it. I come over from Sheffield and I cover the lot, so being out at Hatfield or up at Askern is not a reason to be told somebody cannot help you.

The housing splits fairly cleanly. Balby, Hexthorpe and Wheatley are dense Victorian and Edwardian terraces, a good number still with their original timber doors. Bessacarr, Cantley and Sprotbrough are mostly interwar and post-war semis and detached houses, and nearly all of those have had a uPVC or composite door fitted at some point in the last thirty years. Then there are the planned colliery villages, Woodlands, New Rossington, Denaby Main and Dunscroft, built as whole estates in one go, which means entire streets share the same door and therefore the same weak point.

Tickhill and Bawtry are the exception to all of it. Old market towns with conservation areas and timber front doors people are rightly attached to, where the sensible answer is a British Standard mortice lock fitted properly into the door that is already there, rather than anything that changes the look of the house.
